Two cases of dengue have been reported in the national capital, but civic officials insist that both patients have contracted the infection from outside the Capital.

"Two patients admitted to the Apollo Hospital and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have tested positive for dengue," said Dr N.K. Yadav, municipal health officer, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
These are the first confirmed cases of dengue fever in the city this season. Yadav, however, maintained that these are not "indigenous" cases.
"Both the patients are not from Delhi. One lives in somewhere in south India while the other is also from another state. We are yet to get all the details," he added.
Civic authorities have been concerned over the incidence of dengue this year, as the city will host the Commonwealth Games in October, a month that generally witnesses high prevalence of dengue cases.
