Two more arrested for attack on judges in Saket

Anil Raj and Rohit were arrested on Thursday night, while Sunil Raj (Anil’s brother) and Prashant were held a day later. They have been charged with attempt to murder in connection with the attack on the judges and their driver in south Delhi’s Dakshinpuri area.

According to the police, the men had attacked the judges even after they saw the court sticker on the windscreen of the car. Dharmendra Kumar, special commissioner of police (law and order), said, “One of the assailants who had earlier been sent to jail had a grudge against all judges. When the men noticed the court sticker, they decided to attack the judges.”

Kumar said the police would invoke harsher charges in road rage cases and made a case for people to note down numbers and hand them over to the force to help them in investigations.

According to Kumar, Lal claimed that the youths attacked them as the matter was about to be settled. Kumar said Anil, who is a salesman in a south Delhi mall, was involved in two other cases, while his brother is unemployed.

Rohit is into purchase and sale of scooters while Prashant is a hairdresser.

In the complaint filed with police, Lal said he was driving the government vehicle. When the car reached Dakshinpuri, a speeding motorcycle rammed it.
