Two policemen and a local goon from Haryana sustained bullet injuries during a high-speed chase at a northwest Delhi village on Thursday afternoon, the police said.

According to the police, the chase ensued after a police party deployed at the Singhu Border in Alipur village attempted to flag down three men on a motorcycle after being alerted about an armed robbery in Sonepat.
“Our counterparts in Haryana had tipped us off about the fact that three men had held up a man at gunpoint, snatched a bag from his hand and were rushing towards the Capital to evade arrest,” said an officer.
The victim, identified as one Sonu who runs a poultry farm in Sonepat, had been robbed of a bag containing between R20-R30 lakh. He had reported the matter to the local police who alerted the Delhi Police.
“The men had already fled into the Capital and turned towards Narela when we were alerted. The police party deployed near the border identified them and chased them,” the officer said. During the ensuing chase, the police claimed, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police vehicle. “Two personnel sustained a bullet injury each; one of them, however, was able to target one of the accused who then fell down, and was arrested,” said the officer.
