Continuing its crackdown on ultrasound hospitals and clinics, a team of officials from the Delhi government sealed the ultrasound room of west Delhi's Kolmet Hospital and Medical Research Centre on Wednesday.

The centre's record register was also seized in the raid.
The team, including Karol Bagh sub divisonal magistrate Pawan Kamra and chief medical officer, Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques Act Dr SC Mehra, conducted a surprise raid at the hospital and allegedly found discrepancies in the hospital records, which are to be submitted before an ultrasound is conducted.
The hospital, however, rubbished the allegations. The administration is planning to give a written representation to the health minister, chief minister and deputy commissioner, Daryaganj, on Friday explaining their stance.
"There is something fishy about the whole thing. The reasons given do not hold under the PNDT Act; the size of room doesn't matter, whether there is a treadmill lying in the room or a suitcase is no violation either. The idols were placed by god-fearing technicians, we can't ask them to remove those," said Dr Ashwani Mehta, medical director of the hospital.
