USIBC appoints Google India MD on board

The US-India Business Council today said Google India Managing Director Shailesh Rao has been appointed on its Board of Directors. Shailesh Rao has also served as a Director for Google based at the company's headquarters in California.

The US-India Business Council (USIBC) on Friday said Google India Managing Director Shailesh Rao has been appointed on its Board of Directors.

"Shailesh Rao brings to the USIBC Board global breadth, great strategic insight and a deep understanding of emerging markets," USIBC Chairman and PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi said in a statement.

Rao has also served as a Director for Google based at the company's headquarters in California and was instrumental in the launch of Google Maps and Google Earth globally.

Prior to joining Google, he was associated with AOL, Yodlee and Strategic Planning Associates.
USIBC is a business advocacy firm which comprises of US and Indian companies and works towards deepening two-way trade and strengthening of commercial ties.
