Denying a cup of tea on credit to his neighbour led to the death of a tea vendor and left his younger brother seriously injured in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur on Tuesday evening.

According to the police, the victims were attacked with knives and bottles allegedly by the neighbour and his two friends following an argument over the trivial issue. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Irfan, 32.
Irfan’s younger brother, Nawab, 30, suffered severe head injuries after he was attacked with bottles. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital, a police officer said.
The police have arrested the attackers, who have been identified as Mohammad Naeem, Mohammad Raashid and his brother Mohammad Rasheed.
“Nawab refused Naeem the cup of tea after which an argument broke out between them. A few minutes later, Naeem returned with his two friends and they started assaulting Nawab,” said the officer.
