Warrants against CBI officers stayed

The Delhi High Court has stayed a special court’s order, issuing bailable warrants against two senior CBI officers.

The Delhi High Court has stayed a special court’s order, issuing bailable warrants against two senior CBI officers. The two had failed to appear before the court in compliance with summons to explain why the CBI had failed to produce witnesses in a case in August. September 28 was fixed as the date for further hearing.

The order came on an appeal filed by Ganesh Verma, SSP, CBI, who contended that on August 29, the special court had wrongly issued summons to him and Sunder Lal, Deputy Legal Adviser, as the court staff had failed to issue summons to the witnesses in the case.
