Many of us living in Delhi may have forgotten about the calamity that hit Leh in August 2010, but students at The Shri Ram School, Aravali did not. The teachers, students and their parents held a concert on Friday - Shri Sangeet - to collect funds for rehabilitation of students in the affected area.

The school was able to collect about Rs6 lakh. "We will use these funds for education and educational infrastructure for the children affected by the Leh disaster," said Chavi Behl, student welfare advisor, The Shri Ram School.
"This is our effort to create sensitive children in the 21st century, who can think and work beyond I, Me and Myself," said Sudha Sahay, principal senior Shri Ram School.
Early this year, the school sent a five-member team to Ladakh to help victims of cloudburst. The team visited two schools, Bhartiya Vidya Niketan School and Thiksay Lamdon Model School.
"We will give sustained support to determine how best we can support enhancement of education and upliftment in the lives of children," said Mark Parkinson, director, The Shri Ram School.
The teachers also applauded the effort of the students in making the activity a success.
