Ahead of Arvind Kejriwal's announcement to launch a new political party on Tuesday, Anna Hazare appeared to have softened his stance towards his one-time closest aide, saying he will support his young colleague if he contests elections.

"I never said Arvind is bad. I will support Arvind if he contests (polls). So far, I have not come across any shortcomings in him. He is working for the society. But at the same time, I am not going to support all candidates put up by Arvind. How do I know whom Arvind will select," Hazare told reporters on Monday evening.
"That MP from Chandni Chowk, Kapil Sibal. If he (Arvind) contests against him, I will certainly campaign for him... Sibal was against Lokpal Bill. He was against our participation in the joint committee," Hazare said.
Earlier, Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia met Hazare in the morning.
"We have a relationship. There is no fight between us… We told him (Hazare) that whenever needed, we are there to help him. He told us the media was creating an impression that there is a fight (between us)," Kejriwal said.
