AIIMS MBBS result 2018: Sangrur’s Eliza Bansal tops the exam
Eliza Bansal from Lehragaga in Sangrur district secured the first rank in the AIIMS examination, the result of which was declared on Monday.
Eliza secured 100 percentile (rounded off) in biology and physics each, while she scored 99.94 percentile in chemistry and 97.87 percentile in general knowledge. She was taking coaching at a private coaching institute in Patiala for the past two years.
In the NEET examination, she grabbed AIR-196 rank and scored 94.6% marks in the class 12 from Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE).
“It looks like a dream come to true. I have never thought of grabbing AIR-1 rank but I was hopeful to be placed among top 10. AIIMS examination was quite easy for me as compared to NEET,” she said.
She added that she had given thorough revision to her syllabus and concentrated in clearing basic concepts.
“In two years, I have not used any mobile phone and not even have account on any social media site. During the journey my parents and teachers at Lakshya institute supported me a lot,” Eliza said.
Her father works as lecturer and mother is a housewife. Her father, Vijay Kumar, economic lecturer in a government school at Lailan village said her daughter always aimed high to become doctor from Class 9.
Eishwauk Aggarwal, a student from Panchkula’s Bhavan Vidayalya school , who was taking coaching at a private institute in Patiala bagged AIR-10 in the AIIMS result. She secured AIR 90 in the NEET exam.
Two more students from Patiala Abhinav Gupta and Ishaan secured AIR 14 and 60 ranks, respectively.
