Union home minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah on Thursday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked voters in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, as the party retained its governments in these four states where assembly elections took place in February-March.

“The BJP's emphatic win in UP is the victory of @narendramodi ji's unshakable faith in the welfare of the poor. Voters have put their stamp of approval to @myogiadityanath's good governance. I thank people from the bottom of my heart for this emphatic win,” Shah posted on Twitter.
“Grateful to the people of Goa for reposing their faith in the BJP. BJP under the leadership of PM @narendramodi ji will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the aspirations of our sisters and brothers of Goa. Congratulations to @DrPramodPSawant @ShetSadanand & our workers,” he tweeted for the coastal state of Goa.

{{/usCountry}}The Union home minister attributed the BJP's win in Manipur to PM Modi's resolve for a ‘prosperous’ northeast. “This has earned him a special place in the hearts of the people of our NE region, this victory is a testament to the same. Congratulations to CM @NBirenSingh Ji, @AShardaDevi Ji and our workers,” he posted.
Finally, he described the party's win in Uttarakhand as people expressing their unwavering faith in the development work done by the BJP government under PM Modi's leadership. He also congratulated chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the party's unit in the hill state.
Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh took place in seven phases, beginning on February 10 and concluding on March 7. Uttarakhand and Goa voted on February 14, while Manipur went to polls on February 28 and March 5.
