"We must work together", Bollywood actor Aamir Khan told Amitabh Bachchan when the megastar turned up to mourn his father Tahir Hussain's death.

"We went across to Aamir's place and spent time with him and his family. Tried to keep the atmosphere light and cheerful. It was pleasant. As Aamir came down to see us off when we left his house, he expressed, 'We must work together sir...' I told him to direct a film. He has such talent for it. He nodded (in) approval," Bachchan wrote on his blog.

Describing Aamir's father as "an effervescent gentleman, producer and director", the 67-year-old actor also recounted his wife Jaya's association with Hussain in
Anamika. He however, added, "We all know that nods of approval and desire to work together, make good conversation ready to picked up as a headline tomorrow, and nothing more."

Tahir, most noted for producing films like Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), Anamika (1973) and Caravan (1973) passed away on Tuesday. Bachchan also condoled the death of yesteryear actor and producer Sujit Kumar remembering him as "a colleague in several films and a considerate neighbour."
