Bollywood's evergreen couple Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan celebrate their 37th anniversary today.
"37 yrs! That's how long my parents have been married. Their wedding anniversary today!!" Abhishek wrote on his Twitter page.
Fans too wished Big B on his special day. Thanking everyone for their wishes, Amitabh wrote on the micro-blogging site, "I shall have to keep thanking those that send me greetings on our Anniversary.it would be difficult to acknowledge all.. SO THANK YOU."
The couple tied the knot in the year 1973 while they were filming for Sholay and Abhimaan. Infact, the duo spent their honeymoon while Sholay was on hold. Its shooting could begin only after their return from honeymoon.
Their marriage happened to be just 7 days before the shooting of the hit Bollywood song Teri Bindiya Re.
Their wedding was held as per the Bengali Brahmin community rituals to which Jaya belonged, before marriage. Amitabh hails from a Kayastha family.
