Salman Khan’s latest song — Character dheela — from his upcoming film Ready, is generating a lot of buzz albeit not for all good reasons. While the song has got appreciation from many quarters, some did notice its striking similarity to Shah Rukh Khan’s song, Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte, from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.



In both the songs, the Khans can be seen paying tribute to yesteryears superstars. While SRK took inspiration from Raj Kapoor’s iconic song, Pyaar hua ikraar hua, along with Dev Anand and Shammi Kapoor, Salman imitated Raj Kapoor from his film, Shree 420. He also along played Dilip Kumar from Mughal-e-Azam and Dharmendra from Sholay.



Filmmaker Bhushan Kumar rules out the possibility of any similarity. "There are no similarities between the two songs. In our song we have featured these veteran actors for a short while in a funny manner, while SRK’s song was like a fancy dress number where they imitated the stars and the lyrics of the song were also inspired from the yesteryears’ hit tracks."

Actor Zarine Khan, who has made a special appearance opposite Samlan in the song, says she had a good time. "I feel so privileged to be able to play Nargisji, Hema Maliniji and Madhubalaji." On comparison Kajol, who also imitated Nargis in SRK’s song, she says, "I am nothing in front of any of these legends but feel honoured that I am compared to them."
