Actor Akshay Kumar is known to be a helpful co-star, something that Srman Jain learnt recently. Jain, who already has around 65 TV ads to his credit, and is a trained artiste from National School of Drama, Delhi, figured out that acting in a film is another ball game.
Jain, who is playing the character of Akshay Kumar’s room partner in the film,
Desi Boyz
, had to enact a very emotional scene. 'Being a TV artiste and due to my training at NSD, I tend to get a little aggressive while emoting. During one of the emotional dialogue sequences, I kept giving retakes and by the end of it, we were all getting very frustrated.'
'This is when Akshay asked me if I was also doing television. When I said yes, he just laughed and advised me to go easy on my expressions, saying ‘you are a good actor but
bolte vakt dum mat lagao
(do not stress so much when speaking). when I did my next take, it was okayed,' regales a happy Srman. Later Akshay told him that he needed to be less melodramatic than when on TV.
