“It will be an on-going exercise. It won’t have a finite ending like a TV show. Bollywood is known to be the second largest film industry in the world. Fortunes change every Friday. So, we will continue adding names to our list,” says Nikhil Gandhi, business head, UTV Stars, stating that the channel will start off with 60 top celebrities of all time.

“For now, we are looking at everyone who has made a difference to the industry from Pran saab and Dilip Kumar to Dev Anand, Vyjyanthimala, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. We’re pretty confident that they will be happy to participate.”

The idea comes from Sid Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in Los Angeles. The first iconic American location showcases hand impressions of Hollywood actors on the pavement, while the other has names of the celebrities written in cemented ‘stars’ on the sidewalk.
