Deepika Padukone is on the move, literally. The actor, who will soon be seen in Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan, is all set to shift into her new apartment in Worli. Her swanky pad offers a panoramic view of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link and the Mumbai skyline. Touted to be the most expensive star home, Deepika’s apartment has apparently cost her a whopping R 16 crore. It is on the 26th floor of a 33-floor tower.
The actor’s move is significant as she leaves behind Bandra, the Queen of the Suburbs, and ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s neighbourhood, to become a ‘townie’. Earlier in 2007, Deepika had moved into Cozy Home Apartments in Bandra’s posh Pali Hill. It was within walking distance of her then-steady date Ranbir Kapoor’s sprawling bungalow, Krishna Raj.
At that time, reports suggested that Ranbir had helped Deepika move into her new house. He was seen helping the workers unload the furniture into her new house and even spotted carrying lamps and household stuff.“I have been working extremely hard for the last few years because I always wanted to buy a bigger place in Mumbai, which everyone knows is one of the most expensive cities in the world as far as real estate goes,” points out Deepika, smiling happily as she surveys the chic, contemporary interiors of her new home that she has personally overseen with the decorators.
Friends insist that the actor also shopped for all the accessories. Her tasteful personal style extends to her dream home.The pad has floor-length French windows, plenty of open space and giant-size walk-in closets. Last week, her parents, Prakash and Ujjala Padukone, along with sister Anisha, flew down to Mumbai for a ceremonial puja and she stayed the night with her family at the new place. But Deepika will move in only after the Hyderabad schedule of Cocktail, her film with Saif Ali Khan wraps up, towards the end of the month.

{{/usCountry}}"My parents and sister come down to Mumbai a lot and I’d like them to stay with me whenever they are in town," says Deepika: "I have one room for my sister who is generally there for longer periods."The four-bedroom apartment, that is more than 2,500 square feet, is close to the Siddhivinayak temple and comes with parking slots for three cars. It also has two badminton, tennis and squash courts, apart from open exercise decks.
