Johnny Depp and his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, are reportedly living ‘separate lives’.

The French actress was conspicuous by her absence as the Pirates of the Caribbean star mingled with his A-list friends at the Golden Globes on Sunday night and People magazine claims the couple hasn't walked a red carpet together in more than a year.

“He had his head down and he did not smile. He looked messy. He walked off stage and went right out the back door,” Radar online quoted an eyewitness as saying.

It follows several reports that the pair’s relationship is on the rocks.

“Johnny isn’t handling anything well right now,” a source said.

“People around him are worried about how Johnny is doing because he and Vanessa seem so fractured right now. Their relationship is heading toward the end,” the source said.

The source added that things are apparently so bad between them; the 48-year-old actor is seeking legal help.

“Johnny has started reaching out to lawyers, probably to quietly discuss how to get out of the relationship,” the source revealed.

Although the pair displays unity at family functions for children Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9, they are infrequently spotted together.

Though they have both been staying in LA, it is believed they are living at different locations.

Paradis has remained at home in Los Angeles with their kids, who attend private school there, while Depp travels around the world shooting movies.

Now Depp is flying off to shoot The Lone Ranger in Mexico while, once again, Paradis would home in LA with the children.
