Playboy chief Hugh Hefner has given Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr. his seal of approval to portray the men's magazine boss in a planned biopic.

Playboy chief Hugh Hefner has given Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr. his seal of approval to portray the men's magazine boss in a planned biopic.

Iron Man star Downey, Jr. has previously expressed an interest in taking on the lead role in the ageing Lothario's life story, and he has now been given the thumbs up from Hefner himself, reports contactmusic.com.

"Downey and I have talked about it and it is a very real possibility. He's a marvellous actor and I would be honoured if he decided to do it," said Hefner.
