Actor Lara Dutta and her tennis player husband Mahesh Bhupathi were spotted with their eight-month-old daughter Saira at the Jodhpur airport recently. While actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan does her best to hide her baby from media glare, Lara looks comfortable in front of the cameras.
The couple who tied the knot in February 16 2011, were blessed with a baby girl on 20 January 2012.
Mahesh was keen on having a daughter. “Mahesh is very excited and would like to have a daughter. However, as a mother, when you are going through the experience of carrying a baby for nine months, the first-and-foremost priority is to have a healthy baby,” Lara had told HT Cafe.
During her baby shower, Lara had stated that 90 per cent predictions suggested it’s a baby boy. She had said: “And as for us, we don’t know. So, we will be equally surprised. I don’t mind if it’s a boy or a girl.”

Lara meanwhile in gearing up for a comeback.
“I’m looking at going back on set in December,” she says, adding, “I’m actually taking it very easy because I want Saira to be a little settled. A mother has more separation anxiety than the kid. So I want to make sure she is very well secured and in the knowing that I can leave her for an extended period of time.”
“I will also be producing another film under my banner, Bheegi Basanti Entertainment, by the end of the year. My script is ready, I’m working on putting the project together,” Lara has earlier said.
The new mother has also found a new interest— watching American medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. “I’ve always been interested in medical dramas,” she says.

“At this age, she looks like she’ll become a drummer because she is drumming on everything she can get hold of. So I’ve no idea what she’s going to be.”.
