This new look nightclub stores your half-finished whisky so that you can down it later.

The first impression is the last; unless, of course, the impressionist goes in for a makeover by the time you get an opportunity to comment. Such is the case with Poison Ivy in New Friends Colony, that has come up where Ivy stood earlier. Revamped and refurnished well before most foodies could chance upon it, the place has a fresh, fun feel to it.

The chandeliers have been done away with; instead, there are new-age laser beams to help revellers let their hair down on what is touted as one of the biggest dance floors in the city. In fact, by design, the place lets three parties go on together. While bubbly lovers make a beeline for the 50-feet Poison Ivy bar — supposedly the longest in town, the laid- back lot can make itself comfortable at the Purple Deck.

The upper deck is an exclusive private partying lounge, called the B Boss or Big Boss. With Swarovski-studded sofas, the place is meant to hold groups of 10-12 people wishing to indulge royally.

Saving the best for last
Though the décor is ornate, even bordering on over-the-top, the menu has been kept minimalistic. It’s best to go with beer pitchers or single malts, and the usual chicken tikkas and shammi kebabs make for good starters. The spring rolls, though done-to-death at most Delhi eateries, are worth a try here.

What will make you come back, though, is your half-finished bottle of whisky, which is stored away safely once you are done for the day, and can be finished whenever you visit again!
