A die-hard romantic, actor Shraddha Kapoor, says she would love to experience dream-like-romance in real life. Shraddha, whose last film, Aashiqui 2, released recently to encouraging reviews, says, “I am very romantic as a person. I believe that love should be mad and full of pagalpan (madness)... I love romantic films. I hope I have a fairytale romance.”
Daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor, Shraddha’s first two films, Teen Patti and Luv Ka The End, were damp squibs at the box office, but she became third time lucky with Mohit Suri’s directorial venture, Aashiqui 2, and people appreciated both Shraddha and her co-star Aditya Roy Kapoor for their work. Shraddha says acting in romantic films was always on her wish list. “I always wanted to do romantic films. My favourite romantic films are Pyasa, Devdas, Titanic and The Notebook. These are the ones which really stand out in my mind. Now there is Aashiqui 2 as well. I have a thing for mad passionate love stories,” she says.
The initial failure did upset Shraddha. “But then I understood that it is part and parcel of the business. Hits and misses come and go and you have to brush them off,” she says. Currently shooting for Karan Johar’s Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, the 24-year-old wants to be a part of films that help her connect with her fans. “I want to be a part of films where the story connects to the audience,” she says.
