Roll out the red carpet! A new Chopra clan is making its way into Bollywood. And we’re not talking about the powerful Yash Chopra’s family. Priyanka Chopra is sitting pretty as one of Bollywood’s leading actors and Parineeti is just beginning to make waves. Now, another Chopra cousin, Barbie (yes, that is indeed a real name!), has joined the fray.

So who’s Barbie? Priyanka tells us she’s her “bua’s (aunt’s) daughter” and “a very sweet girl”. And this time, Priyanka seems to be handholding cousin number three into the industry, having just shot an ad for Dabur with her.

“Yes, I’ve shot a commercial with (Barbie). And if i can help any of my family members, I don’t see anything wrong with it,” says Priyanka, who is presently busy promoting her next film, Teri Meri Kahaani. Of course, post Ishaqzaade, cousin Parineeti is already making her presence felt in the industry.

She says of Priyanka: “She always gives me advice on all things under the sun. We don’t belong to a filmy family, so she is always the first person I call. She is the one who has been in the industry and knows things.” So can we expect more Chopras in the future? “Yes, I want my own Chopra clan to take over Bollywood (laughs). It feels good to see all of them (her cousins) doing well.”

Besides Parineeti and Barbie, Meera Chopra (the South Indian actor) is also one of Priyanka’s cousins, but Priyanka has never spoken about her. Priyanka, on her part, is travelling extensively for the promotions of Kunal Kohli’s Teri Meri Kahaani.

“Nowadays, promotions have become as important as the film. So we can’t really complain, but sometimes it does become quite tiring,” says Priyanka, who is also juggling shoot schedules for Barfi! and Krrish 3 simultaneously.

About her return to a romantic role opposite Shahid Kapoor, she says, “It has been a long time since I did a full-on love story. While 7 Khoon Maaf (2011) was a dark comedy, Don 2 (2011) was action; Agneepath too was an action-drama where I played a ‘chawl ki ladki’. I was really looking to act in a romantic caper,” she says.
