He might be one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but actor Leonardo DiCaprio recently revealed that he wanted to choose an environment-centric career and not acting.

“Ever since I was very young, I’ve been fascinated with nature, and I actually wanted to be a marine biologist… that was a great passion of mine. So I suppose in the off season, when I’m not making movies, I became more and more active as an environmentalist and try to be more vocal about issues that I feel are important,” says the 37-year-old, who is committed for a campaign “to save the last remaining wild tigers throughout Asia”.

Having managed to shrug off his romantic image with dramas and thrillers, Leo, as he is fondly known, has been bagging kudos for his portrayal of the first FBI director, J Edgar Hoover in the biopic, J. Edgar.

It hit Indian screens on Friday. The movie focuses on Edgar’s career and examines of his private life as an alleged cross-dressing homosexual. DiCaprio, however, dismisses the rumours.
