"It's really not important to walk the red carpet with the stars in Cannes or New York. What's important in this case are the issues that are addressed. Global terrorism and individual loss are subjects that affect all of us," he said while speaking from New York.

Khan, who walked the red carpet with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for the second time in a month as Michael Winterbottom's film A Mighty Heart was premiered, received fulsome praise for his performance in the film.

"I guess American audiences got two chances to see me within a few months in very contrasting films and roles," said Khan, known for his character acting.
