Actress Katrina Kaif’s fans woke up to a shocker on Thursday morning. The actress, who had been ‘unwell’ for the past few days had to be taken to hospital with complaints of severe stomach pain on Wednesday night and had to be operated in emergency.
However, confusion reigned when TV channels broke the news, calling the surgery ‘appendicitis’ while the actress’s spokesperson circulated messages amongst media on Thursday afternoon terming it ‘minor’.
“Katrina has just been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital, and she’s completely fine. She had to undergo a small surgery due to low haemoglobin levels. It’s done with, now and she’s resting at home, after which she will take off for her annual Christmas break in London,” added the spokesperson. Sources from the hospital; say that Katrina was not alone through this ordeal. Beau Salman and his mother Salma were by her side in the hospital.
Kat’s long bout of illness started during the shooting of De Dana Dan. “She had hurt her leg badly and due to heavy medication, she developed an infection which resulted in high fever. Later, she was also diagnosed with jaundice and recovered from that only recently,” revealed a source close to her.
In the past week, Katrina, who was to be in Delhi for an event yesterday, had fever daily and had to undergo a series of complicated medical tests. “She has been prescribed complete bed rest for at least 15 days,” said the source, adding, “Hectic promotional activities of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani with the shooting schedule of Rajneeti did not give her enough time to breathe, let alone recuperate.”
