Leona Lewis is trying her best to come out of her tame image – the singer has now got herself inked down her back.
A pal revealed that the body art was a tribute to her favourite animal, horses.
The tattoo is a poetic message that runs from the nape of her neck down the middle of her back.
“Their beauty captures every eye, a gift from God for all mankind, they lend us wings so we may fly, to ride a horse is to ride the sky,” the tattoo apparently reads.
Lewis, 24, unveiled the risque tattoo as she donned a figure-hugging dress at The Love Ball at The Roundhouse, north-west London.
“Leona is often branded dull and mocked as lacking a personality. This is her way of hitting back at that,” the Daily Star quoted an insider as saying.
The source added: “Leona loves tattoos and she felt having a really bold design running the length of her back would have a real impact.
“She’s seen what other people like Victoria have had done and used her passion for horses as the inspiration.

Lewis also has a tiny Hebrew inking on her wrist.
