She has made public her desire to have a baby, but pop star Lily Allen has denied reports that she is already pregnant with her first child.

The rumours began when the Smile hitmaker was spotted shopping at a pharmacy, sporting a visible bump beneath her loose-fitting top, reported Daily Mail online. But the 25-year-old has confirmed that there is no bun in the oven yet. "I am not pregnant FYI," tweeted Allen.

She had earlier vowed to give up her music career for five years because she wants to start a family with boyfriend Sam Cooper, a painter and decorator.

"I'd like to have a child within a year. It'll be a minimum of four or five years before I make a record again," she had said recently.

Despite being one of UK's most successful female artists, selling more than 2.4 million copies of her first album, Allen says the idea of settling down and having children is more of a priority.

"I'd want to be really hands-on for the first two or three years of having a little one. I don't want to leave them," Allen said.

After suffering from a miscarriage three years ago with ex boyfriend Ed Simons, Allen has made it well known that settling down and raising a family away from the media spotlight is her goal.
