Actor R Madhavan and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, have asked people to avoid the fast food chain KFC, until animal welfare measures are adopted. The actor wrote to the CEO of KFC, saying, “Please stop the worst abuses of these sensitive birds.” In reply, KFC issued a statement that read, “We feel we have been singled out by PETA... we maintain the highest poultry welfare standards.”
