Former model and grooming expert Mehar Bhasin, 34, got married to 40-year-old Indian-American Aspan Singh Ohson, a radiologist in New York, in a hush-hush ceremony in June this year.
It is only now that she breaks the news. “It was a simple court marriage at Mineola in Long Island followed by a low key after-party for close friends and family,” she blushes before adding, “I met him through my sister and brother-in-law a few months ago.
I never thought I would marry a radiologist.” So what made her say yes? “A gut feeling. Sometimes you date a person for years and never settle down, but everything works out when the person and time are right.”
She can’t stop singing praises for her man. “He is very simple, caring and non-judgmental. You can discuss anything under the sun with him.”
Bhasin, who just got back from her long honeymoon in Miami, plans to shuttle between her home town Delhi and New York. “My heart is in India but it beats in New York,” she laughs.
