The promos looked outdated, the music failed to impress but contrary to expectations the so called dated Milenge Milenge slated an impressive 7.5Cr net.
The movie, directed by Satish Kaushik, starring ex-flame Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor is minting money in the Hindi belt, bollywoodhungama reported.
The film which was made in a budget of 15-16 crore, has already grossed a total revenue of 15.21 crore through satellite rights, home video, music rights and the overseas circuit. The experts believe that the film will make at least 20-21 crore giving a 30 per cent
profit on the initial investment which is a rarity today.
Big banner films like Kites and Raavan failed to make the box office tinkle.
Trade pundits also believe that the late release of Milenge Milenge has actually been beneficial for producer Boney Kapoor due to good rates for satellite rights.
Even theatrically, the film is faring better than it would have because both Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are bigger stars today. Also, seeing the two actors romance each other on screen is garnering much attention from the junta.
