Hundreds of people are expected to turn up to watch the event at the Scala nightclub in north London, where dancers will battle each other on stage, with separate competitions for solo and duo acts, the Daily Star reported.

Solo twerkers will be performing in front of judges and a live audience over four categories, while the final two will fight for a 200 pounds prize.

Harold Anthony, organiser of the event said that Twerking is sexy and it has become so mainstream, that they thought it was only right to start a yearly event to find the best twerkers in the UK.

He said that it's really caught on and if they can make this a success it can go on to become bigger and better every year.

Anthony said that the first round is a 30-second freestyle 'one at a time' and four girls will be eliminated after that, while the second is the Jelly Round where girls have to shake it all without moving their feet.
