Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman, died at 76. The Prince of Darkness, as he's come to be known in his time, embodied the rock & roll life and will forever be remembered for his and his band's contribution to the metal genre.
Ozzy's life has been a wild one, often conveyed through his music, and among the many infamous stories associated with the Birmingham-based band's singer, some that stand out include biting the head off a bat, and shooting his cats dead during a drug-fueled frenzy. However, that's not all. Here's a look at some other crazy stories associated with Osbourne.
The time Ozzy Osbourne snorted ants
Ozzy Osbourne is known to have infamously snorted ants while touring with Motley Crue in 1984. They had reportedly run out of cocaine, though the Black Sabbath singer said he had no recollection of the event.
Tommy Lee, however, swore it was true, detailing the event on This Past Weekend With Theo Von in 2024.
“So Ozzy’s wasted. He sees there’s a little trail of ants going all the way to this kid’s popsicle that he left on the ground. And Ozzy looks down and f–king just snorts the line of ants going to the popsicle,” he recalled.

However, things changed when he came to England. Ozzy recalled standing and talking to a horse, after which the horse apparently told him to ‘f- off’.
“I took 10 tabs of acid then went for a walk in a field. I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour. In the end the horse turned round and told me to f**k off. That was it for me,” he said.
Other crazy stories of Ozzy Osbourne
Osbourne reportedly ‘licked’ Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx's urine.
“Nikki goes to pee on the ground and Nikki’s gonna lick up his own piss to outdo Ozzy. And before Nikki could do it, Ozzy f–king beats him to it and licks up his piss. And we’re, like, ‘All right, Ozzy. You win. You win, dude,” Tommy Lee had shared.
Ozzy also infamously bit off a dove's head in 1981, when celebrating a new deal with CBS Records. While the singer had initially taken the doves to the meeting with the executives, as a sign of peace, he later got ‘pissed’ and bit off one of the dove's heads, spitting it back at the publicist.
