The battle inside the Sawant household just entered the Bigg Boss house. Item girl Rakhi Sawant is worried about her mother, Jaya Sawant’s feverish pitch for her own reality TV star status on Bigg Boss. She told HT City, “Rakhi has become the lucky mascot for reality shows. Channels look out for the Rakhi element for their show to be a hit. Kyunki vo mujhe show mein nahi le paaye to meri maa ko bula liya.”
Sawant senior on the other hand, took a dig at her daughter on entering the Colors’ show. “Jab apno ne mujhe nahi samjha tab parayon ne mujhe samjha aur unki wajah se main aaj yahaan hun. Mujhe lagta hai main sabko ghar mein sambhal paungi,” she told host Amitabh Bachchan before entering the Bigg Boss house. Rakhi reacted on a TV news channel, “The channel has somehow convinced my mother to participate, but she is too old and fat to survive the reality TV grind. Mr Bachchan please take care of her.”
As expected, Bigg Boss 3’s opening night turned out to be high on glitz and drama. While we were still recovering from the dramatic entry of Jaya Sawant (in a shimmering red and green sari), sex bomb Sherlyn Chopra ‘bared’ her bold side on the very first day. On the dinner table full of guests, she asked actress Poonam Dhillon to cut the string of her low-neck top as she was not feeling ‘comfortable’. Male contestants in the house pretended to look elsewhere, even as the viewers remained hooked to the screens. While the glamour bit was taken care of by divas — Sherlyn, Shamita, Claudia and Aditi, the drama quotient of the show got a boom, courtesy Jaya Sawant. Composer Ismail Darbar was hitting on Dhillon by calling her more ‘khubsurat’ than Sherlyn.
Said viewer Sunidhi Verma, “Too many sexy female participants, and no hunk is sad.” Sudhanshu Kumar said, “With Sherlyn and Claudia in the house, it won’t be a family show anymore.”
