“We realised that one of the reasons for incompatibility between couples is that the vibrations of numbers in their names don’t match. If both the man and the woman have their name letters totaling up to number one, which is the number of sun, both become dominating and as a result, their relationship becomes stormy. So, we give them numerologically matched names by which they should address each other,” explains Manisha Kaushik, numerologist and name therapist.

Numerologist Pankaj Malhotra asked a friend to address her husband as ‘Avi’ instead of using his fill name ‘Avinash’. “They had problems as their names clashed astrologically. The shorter name was more compatible,” he explains.

Brides-to-be are also consulting experts for lucky nicknames. “Alphabets that are used in the nicknames are compatible with each other and also foster better relationships,” says numerologist Niraj Mancchanda.

This, explains Kaushik, is because different nicknames lead to contradictions in a personality.
