The company got into controversy when a Beyonce picture showing her complexion lighter and reddish-blonde hair was published in Elle magazine. Thesun.co.uk reports that various newspapers have slammed the promotional picture for Feria hair colour.

The editor of Britain's The Voice said: "There is an attitude in the modelling industry that black models do not sell. Models that end up in magazines tend to be very, very light-skinned or Asian. "It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Beyonce's features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair colour," said a L'Oreal spokesperson.
