Her appearances with singer Peter Andre at the IIFA awards in Macau caused quite a stir in the gossip circles, with some publications even going as far as to say that pictures of the two of them together had infuriated Peter’s ex-wife Jordan. But Sophie Chaudhry remains unperturbed.
“For those wondering what’s going on between us, let them keep wondering. Yes, we did look fabulous on the green carpet…we look great together. Peter is a gentleman and we have a lot in common…I really liked him,” she says. But ask her for a yes or no on whether she’s in a relationship and she quips, “No matter how many times I’m asked this question, my reply will be ‘I’m always single’. I know you guys would like to know what’s happening in my love life but, for me, what’s personal is personal.”
She testifies that the ‘music connection’ may bring her and Peter together again. Asked if we’ll see them collaborating on a project in the future, she says, “That’s definitely a possibility.” As for now, she’s content with whatever she’s got in her kitty, which includes “two films, a solo album and my theatre debut.”
She’s also basking in accolades she got in Macau. “I sang and performed there, and it was for the first time that many people from the industry had seen me perform live. Afterwards, a lot of people — Amitabh Bachchan, Javed Akhtar and Prasoon Joshi — complimented me. It was quite an experience.”
