Hollywood actress Natalie Portman will receive ‘synthetic leather’ shoes as a birthday gift from Indian shoe designer Rina Shah, who is an active member of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman will receive ‘synthetic leather’ shoes as a birthday gift from Indian shoe designer Rina Shah. Shah, who is an active member of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), has sent the special pair of shoes from her new collection to vegan Natalie Portman on her 29th birthday, today.

“I chose Portman for this because she has been a long-time supporter of animal rights,” said Shah. “The shoes sent to Natalie are inspired by Cinderella’s glass slippers, adorned with Swarovski crystals.”

“Shah has shown that it’s possible to create first-rate fashion without killing animals,” said Ambika Shukla of PETA India
