Ranbir Kapoor has found himself faced with a strange problem. The actor’s Wikipedia page, which details personal and professional information about him, has been modified by a prankster keen on having a few laughs at the actor’s expense. Wikipedia, a nonprofit venture that is the world’s biggest encyclopedia, is written and edited by thousands of volunteers.
In the section, ‘Early Life’, a line has been added, which reads: “As a child, Kapoor studied at Ankit & Aayush Ganwaar’s Paathshala in Chhapra, Bihar where he failed twice in tenth and thrice in twelth.” While Facebook accounts of celebrities have been hacked several times in the past, and several ‘fake’ celeb profiles exist on Twitter, a celeb’s Wikipedia page being modified is a rare phenomenon. Interestingly, no other changes have been made Kapoor’s Wikipedia page.
