Rani Mukherji visits her old home this birthday

The Bollywood actress revisited her barson purana ghar, on Juhu-Tara Road and the watchmen and workers were on seventh heaven when they saw Rani, but their smiles disappeared when Rani handed them two laddoos each person and a Rs 50 note.

Birthday ke laddoo
Morning my cream puffs! How goes it in your part of the world? It’s thanda, thanda, cool cool in my penthouse.. though once in a while, the temperature shoots up thanks to all garma garam sizzling stuff happening in and around tinsel town.

Now, Madhu my Mottu Maid wants to celebrate her 31st janam din tomorrow.. and is pleading with me to allow her to use my terrace for a couple of hours in the evening. I almost fainted when she said 31, she doesn’t look a nano-second younger than 35. Khair, being my usual generous self, I, not only granted her permission to party, but have also called Rapchik Rajni to help her organise the bash.

Incidentally, Rani Mukherji also turned 31 on Saturday. Though I’m so very curious to know how many years she has been 31 for.

Anyway, apart from the usual things she’d do on her salgiraah, Ms Mukherji thought of revisiting her barson purana ghar, on Juhu-Tara Road. According to my jasoos, when the watchmen and workers saw Rani step out of her car, they were in seventh heaven.

But when they actually met the star, aamne-saamne, they were disappointed. I’m told their smiles disappeared when Raniji handed them two laddoos each person and a Rs 50 note.

For someone named Rani, one can only say ‘naam bade, darshan chhote’, moans my khabru. Tsk, tsk!

Tress passing
Hmm, looks like John Abraham and Bipasha Basu have got some company. My saheli has just informed me that Shilpa Shetty and Asin will join them as co-brand ambassadors for a shampoo brand they endorse.

Of course, La Shetty got a fatter cheque than Asin, keeping her seniority and popularity in mind. And my sakhi feels the timing of Shilpoo’s deal couldn’t be better.. considering she’s invested quite an amount, along with beau Raj Kundra, in acquiring a stake in the Rajasthan Royals IPL team. Smart gal!

Gym barabar gym
Talking of John Abraham, Mottu wants to go on a two-week holiday.. to Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Kyun? Kyunki she’s learnt that John boy, who’s there for a marathon spell of Hook ya Crook, has got a gym set up at his hotel.

That’s not all. He’s got his co-stars, Shreyas Talpade, Kay Kay Menon, Sharad Kapoor and Krushna Abhishek to do some compulsory workouts every evening after pack-up.

And if that’s not enough, Johnny boy has also chalked out what they must eat and when.. and what they must strictly avoid at all costs. What has surprised Mots most is that John has also got David Dhawan on a fitness regime. And though the nirdeshak hasn’t lost much weight, he’s ensured that he hasn’t put on any extra kilos.

Now Mots is certain a trip down south will do her health a lot of good. Kewl!

Two to tango
Okay, so we know that Abhay Deol struck a chord with Dibakar Banerjee during the making of Oye Lucky Lucky Oye.. and the two are planning to team up again. But I’ve just been updated with some real todu khabar on this front.

According to a highly placed khabru, the next one isn’t going to be a solo-hero project. Unlike their first outing, movie number two has equal footage for another kirdar. And I’m told Imran Khan is being considered.

My informer says that Banerjee has connected with Khan, who’s shooting for Luck in Film City these days. And Khan is believed to have liked the brief. He is expected to meet up with the director later this week for a more detailed hearing.

So if all goes well, it won’t be long before Deol and Khan team up.Chalo, badhiya hai. After all, such is life dearies.
