Over the past several months, Saif Ali Khan has been busy wrapping up Bullett Raja and shooting for back-to-back projects — Sajid Khan’s Humshakals and Kabir Khan’s Phantom. Probably that’s why the day his latest film was set to release, Saif and his actor-wife Kareena Kapoor Khan left for a holiday.

Around Christmas and New Year every year, the actors usually take off to their favourite holiday destinations — Switzerland or London. However, this time they have opted for a change. “They have gone to Romania for a break. They actually left on the night before the film released,” says an insider close to the couple.

While Saif couldn’t be reached for a comment, Kareena sent us an SMS saying that she is “travelling on a three week holiday”. Once back, Kareena too will get busy with Bombay Samurai followed by Shuddhi.

Incidentally, Kareena’s Gori Tere Pyaar Mein released a week before Saif’s film. The latter is supposed to start work on Phantom and Humshakals simultaneously. And if the rumour mills are to be believed, he has also been signed for Race 3. “Saif knows he has a busy year ahead; that’s why he has taken this break before jumping into his forthcoming films,” adds the insider.
