Finally, the warring Khans came face to face in another party. On Thursday night, Malaika Arora Khan and hubby Arbaaz hosted a sangeet ceremony at V-lounge in Bandra for newlyweds Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladak.
Among invitees were Shah Rukh and Salman. This was their first encounter after the fight at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash last year. They arrived at the same time, but refused to look at each other. According to a guest present, “It was clear that the cold war was still on.”
Earlier, the news was that SRK would not attend any of the three-day wedding functions, since Amrita is related to Salman through Malaika. But a source close to both families says that Malaika and Gauri Khan made sure that the men attended the sangeet. “After Wednesday’s church wedding, Malaika went to SRK’s home to invite him,” says the source.
A clash of sorts did happen when both applauded Kareena Kapoor’s dance act. Salman whistled, Shah Rukh cheered, apparently trying to outdo each other, the source tells us.
Sallu left in ‘high spirits’ — he flagged down an autorickshaw and sat with the driver. Between arriving and leaving, he had changed out of his blue tee into a white shirt. The source says that Katrina left in her car, looking thunderous.
