Actor-director-producer Satish Kaushik will be seen in yet another Hollywood project titled

Promise Dad
, after his earlier roles in
Road
Movie (2009) and
Brick Lane
(2007). The poster of the film was unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival recently and the actor is scheduled to leave for London on a 20-day schedule in June.
Satish will be seen essaying the role of a skating arena caretaker in the film that revolves around a father-son relationship. He says, “My character wants his son to become a skating champion. There is turmoil in the family because his British wife has left him and both father and son are left to fend for themselves.”
The actor rues that though he has done a lot of comedy films in India, his real potential has not been tapped into. He says, “It was only after my play

that people noticed my range as an actor and then
Brick Lane
happened. Since then, I’ve travelled to film festivals worldwide and had met actors like Ben Kingsley and Robert De Niro.” He adds, “That’s why I have been offered

this year, the actor says he had consciously taken a one-year break from directing films to concentrate on his health. He reveals, “I have lost 14 kilos by exercising regulary and controlling my diet. Today, competition is enormous and one’s presentation is very important.”
The actor however affirms that he will not 'go under the knife' to get rid of excess flab. He says, “My friend Anil Kapoor used to keep telling me to exercise years ago, but I was too lazy. I realise the importance of being fit now.”
