American singer Norah Jones has no plans of following in the footsteps of her father and music maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar by learning the Sitar as the instrument has left him and half-sister Anoushka Shankar with twisted backs.

The multiple Grammy Award winner admits that she once took sitar lessons from Anoushka but later realized it wasn't her cup of tea, Contactmusic reported.
"It was fun, but you have to twist your back all around. My dad and Anoushka both have twisted backs from playing so much," Norah said.
The 30-year-old singer gave up on mastering the sitar because she was not comfortable with the playing position. "And you have to sit cross-legged. See, that ain't cool! I can't imagine doing a world tour cross-legged," Norah added.
