“We’ve observed how keenly ex-students and junior college students come and watch the events every year. A lot of them express their wish to participate too. It’s only fair to include them to make the festival bigger,” says Dhvani Doshi, PR Coordinator. Students from colleges outside Mumbai and from the ninth and tenth standard in various city schools are also invited, to enable more participation and larger contingents.

The festival that started off in 1985 as a fun fair infused with cultural activities, has grown multifold since then. Today, it is an event that is eagerly awaited every year. As per tradition, Kaleidoscope 2010 has been given a theme, which will be visible in the decor and all the events. “This time, the theme is celebration. It has been selected to commemorate the silver jubilee of the festival.”

Known to offer an array of events and workshops, the organisers have put together a range of activities that leave participants spoilt for choice. “There are workshops on ballet, bartending, rock climbing, tarot card reading and many more. We’ve also introduced a number of new events alongside our old ones that have been revamped,” says Doshi.
