A petitioner has moved to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against actor Veena Malik and urged that she should be tried under Article 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for obscene acts, Article 124-A for sedition, Article 140 for wearing garb or carrying token used by soldier, sailor or airman and Article 500 for defamation.

High Court Judge Muhammad Anwar Kasi has scheduled the hearing for today, The News reports.

The petitioner Salim Ullah Khan told the court that Zahid alias Veena Malik’s photo shoot for an India-based male magazine FHM has raised questions about her conduct and embarrassed the count.

The petitioner said Malik has defamed Pakistan and its intelligence agency, Inter-Service Intelligence as she is carrying an inscription bearing ISI in bold letters in one of the photographs.
