Elizabeth Hurley has all but confirmed her split from legendary cricketer, Shane Warne, in a heart breaking tweet.

The 48-year-old model apologised to her Twitter followers on Wednesday, for her lack of updates due to recent events being 'too raw and personal' to share, the Mirror reported.

However, Shane Warne has responded to rumours about his engagement to Elizabeth Hurley getting over by insisting that they are not throwing the towel in yet.

The couple, who announced the end of their previous relationships and their engagement to each other on the micro-blogging site Twitter, have not tweeted each other for nearly three weeks.

Warne is currently in Australia hanging out with his three children, while Hurley is in the UK with her son Damian, who recently underwent an emergency surgery for appendicitis.

The cricketer celebrated his 44th birthday last Friday and thanked everyone, from family members, friends and fans on Twitter for their wishes, except Hurley.

Warne had also posted a cryptic tweet a few days before his birthday.

Hurley, who was previously married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar, had also posted an unusual tweet, saying, "The more I know of man, the more I love my dog."

The couple split briefly once before in 2011 before reconciling. They got engaged the same year.
