Not all Sundays are welcome, specially if it happens to be Valentine’s Day. With everything closed, it’s hard for young love birds to find an excuse to slip out of home.
“It’s really a problematic situation,” says Robin, 22. “Parents, too, are now aware of the day.” Robin and his girlfriend have decided to meet up in a group, in case their parents are following, and then head for their “alone time”.
“Had it been a weekday, I’d have managed saying tuitions,” says Shreya Kaul of SRCC. “Now, I will have to think of something really believable, or sulk at home.”
Planning helps
Rakhi Singh (name changed on request) of Guru Gobind Singh college had made plans in advance. “Since last month, I started telling my parents that from February, I’ll have group study at friends’ place,” she says. “On 13th night, we’ll jam at my friend’s place and then sneak out with our respective boyfriends.”
MBA student Anjali Verma plans to celebrate the day in Connaught Place, far from her home in Ghaziabad. “There will be no chance of bumping into anyone,” she says. So, what’s your plan today?
