According to rumours doing the round, it was hinted that some sort of crime was behind the 48-year-old singer’s sudden death, CBS News reported.

However, her autopsy report attributed the cause of her death to drowning in the hotel’s bathtub, heart disease and cocaine use.

Houston died in the Beverly Hilton hotel on February 11 on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

She had been planning a comeback, including a starring role in the remake of the film Sparkle, which is due for release later this year.
