What is this new age obsession with vampires, werewolves, warlocks and fey? If you look at the last 3-4 years, this fascination with these sexy supernatural men has risen incredibly, through beautiful books which have been made into popular and even cult movies and TV shows.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, Sookie Stackhouse by Charlene Harris, Vampire Academy by Rachel Mead and the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice being the most popular among young girls right now. Is it that these hot guys never age? Their unbeatable strength and the danger that surrounds them? Their other-worldly features and the fact that they never die? Or is it that they’re young and sexy and suave and intelligent and seduce so effortlessly we never see the monster in them?
These creatures are far from the Dracula created by Bram Stocker. It’s one of those guilty pleasures that I didn’t want to admit to, at first. But their charm is too seductive and you get wrapped in it. Obviously, Hollywood has taken advantage of this weakness and addiction and made movies and shows on the supernatural and cast the best looking men they could find — Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, David Borneaz, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard to name a few!!
These stories are as addictive as dark chocolate. So, what makes them so addictive? A woman always wants to change a man... a bad man into a good one. You find these things happening in the stories … how they fall in love, fight their dark side.. their tragic and mysterious past that makes them seem vulnerable … maybe that’s what makes them amazing, the combination of strength and vulnerability.
